On a familiarisation wander south of the Liffey I came across an excellent place for lunch, rather strangely called “Meet and Meat”. Turns out it is a cafe during the day (with excellent coffee!) and a wine bar at night, in a sort of French charcuterie style. Took an unobtrusive photo at the end and have only just now noticed things hanging in the window. Goodness knows what they were…
Then wending my way back through Temple Bar, I came across a rather imposing orange brick building with a single word on the outside, indicating the owner, I imagined, some Scottish-Irish gentleman. Turned out, when I peered more closely through the windows, he was American. At least he wasn’t allowed to put his logo up outside…
Jambon hanging in the window????? (Cured ham????)
Yes, that’ll be it!
