We said goodbye to Kirsty and Richard today and made our way to York, and our first conference. K & R have treated us royally, especially with their cafe-quality meals, their Beef Wellington rivalling the pork belly that Sarah produced. They have a great lifestyle in Newington Green, a leafy London suburb. Pics show the views down the street both ways from their lounge window and the balcony on which we sat one evening with a glass or two.
Reached York via a high speed train and got settled into the Churchill Hotel. Pip has developed a slightly sore throat ahead of her seminar at York St John University tomorrow so we went in search of a hot toddy and found one at the Three Tuns – an 18th century pub. Pics show the inside and outside.
Last pic is of York Minster in the background of a typical York street where the blasted tiourists were getting in the way of my camera.
