“To travel hopefully is better than to arrive” – Robert Louis Stevenson.
On Sunday 23 June, Pip and Bruce leave for five weeks in the UK. We will use the blog page to give you a day by day account of the trip, but in the meantime this page will provide an overview of our planning.
The main reason for our visit is of course to see our newest grandchild who, at time of writing, is due to be born any day now. Secondly, of course, we want to catch up with our other UK grandson, Angus, and other members of the family, Sarah & Chris, Kirsty & Richard. Thirdly, we will be attending two conferences, one in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the otherĀ at York St John University.
Our broad itinerary is as follows:
| Sun | 24 June | Auckland |
| Mon – Thurs | 25-28 June | London |
| Fri – Thurs | 29 June – 5 July | Brighton |
| Fri – Sun | 6 – 8 July | London |
| Mon – Sat | 9 – 14 July | York |
| Sun – Wed | 15 – 18 July | Newcastle |
| Thurs – Fri | 19 – 20 July | London |
| Sat | 21 July | Heathrow |

Hi Rob, as you can see from our itinerary, we are coming as far north as Newcastle, but it is very unlikely that we will get any further north, as this part of the trip is being paid for by my employer. Having said that, it is possible that I may have a couple of days up my sleeve – will keep you posted. Regards,Bruce
